Austin, TX – January 8, 2009 – Mirage Networks, developer of patented, full-cycle Network Access Control (NAC) technology, today announced that that U.S. patent number 7,469,418 has been issued for Mirage’s Network Access Control (NAC) technology. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has afforded protection of Mirage’s capability to deter network incursion for network access control. The patent's claims cover unique methods and apparatuses to deter threats on an organization’s network. With its first patent awarded in December 2006 and three additional awards still in process, Mirage has assembled the premiere intellectual property assets in the NAC market.

Mirage, known for its long history of innovation, has long dominated the intellectual property race among NAC vendors and the growing patent portfolio is indicative of the company’s focus on innovation.  With a rapidly expanding collection of protected intellectual property, Mirage’s remains the only NAC solution in the world that works for every endpoint in any network environment.

The technology embodied in Mirage’s approved and pending patent applications has already been deployed at more than 575 customer locations in 40 countries around the world.

“Since Mirage’s inception, this company has been committed to finding new ways to solve real world problems,” said Grant Hartline, chief technology officer for Mirage Networks. “Our track record in innovation speaks for itself. We’re not following network security precedents, we’re setting them.”

Mirage solutions are made available through Authorized ChannelFirst Partners and can also be delivered as a managed service.
