Austin, TX – January 20, 2009 – Mirage Networks, developer of patented, full-cycle Network Access Control (NAC) technology, today announced that Georgia System Operations Corporation (GSOC), a not-for-profit energy system operations company in Georgia, has selected Mirage Networks’ NAC solution to secure their network from unknown devices gaining access to their internal network. GSOC is deploying full-cycle NAC to ensure that contract employees gaining access to their network are up to date and that devices are compliant with pre-set user policies.
“Our goal is to know what is connected to the internal network, which can include corporate devices, wireless access points, contractor and guest laptops, printers, etc.”, said Chris Hull, Security Engineer at Georgia System Operations Corporation. “When fully deployed, Mirage’s behavioral policy engine will allow us to determine our own guidelines, and then ensure that endpoints gaining access meet these criteria. This will give our IT administrators the peace of mind that all endpoints meet a certain level of compliance before they are allowed to connect to the network.”
Mirage’s NAC solution enables maximum network performance by controlling network access, isolating non-compliant and threatening endpoints, and providing self-remediation capabilities. Mirage’s network-based solution is the easiest NAC solution to deploy, as it requires no agent software, deploys virtually inline, and works in any network environment.
“We welcome Georgia System Operations Corporation to our rapidly growing base of energy customers,” saidTrent Fitz, vice president of marketing for Mirage Networks. “The Mirage solution gives administrators visibility in to their network, showing customers like GSOC who is on it and what they are up to. This insight provides our customers with preventative measures to secure their networks and at the bottom line keep them up and running.”
Mirage solutions are made available through Authorized ChannelFirst Partners and can also be delivered as a managed service.
